Interval running, fartlek, HIIT – it has many names but regardless of what you prefer to call it this mode has everything you need! This is an extension of the tempo mode adding high and low intensity parts to each segments with the ability to repeat each segment and comes as part of your Avanti subscription.
First go the workout section and then press the plus button.
Next choose ‘Interval pace mode’
Next is the interval configuration screen, at first glance this screen looks complicated but hopefully the next few pictures will explain how to set everything up as it’s just a process of slowly moving through the screen and setting everything to exactly how you like it.
First is warmup and cooldown. You can enable one, both or neither of these. For both of them you can choose whether they are for a set distance or a set time period and if you want the pacer enabled during them. Finally if you choose to have the pacer enabled you can naturally say how fast you want the pacer to run.
Now you create your interval segment(s), press the add segment button.
For each segment you set how many times you want to repeat it then set your high and low parameters whether they are time or distance based and whether you want the pacer enabled and if so at what pace.
Repeat this for the low intensity.
Then either create more segments or press ‘Save Interval Run’ and you have created your perfect interval run for your training needs.
